If you want to be a professional orchestral musician you can't
look past the exciting opportunity to be a member of Sydney
Symphony Sinfonia. Sinfonia is a part time orchestra that provides
up and coming musicians an opportunity to be mentored by members of
Sydney Symphony as well as getting paid at the same time. It is the
vital link between the many fine youth orchestras in Australia and
your future career as an orchestral musician.
The training begins with the experience of professional
nationwide auditions, held in Sydney, which attract over 400
applicants. If you are successful in gaining a place in Sydney

"My involvement with the Sydney
Symphony Orchestra's Sinfonia Program has provided me with great
exposure and helped me gain insight into the life of a professional
orchestral musician. It is such an inspiration to perform alongside
members of the SSO and I believe this kind of opportunity is an
invaluable tool for musical development. My first year as a
participant of Sydney Symphony Sinfonia has been a very rewarding
experience and it is a program I would recommend to all aspiring
young classical musicians."

"The Sydney Symphony has created one of
the best training programs for young professional musicians in
Australia and I feel so honoured to have been a part of it. The
opportunities I was given, the mentorship I received, the
performances I was involved in and the friends I have made will
remain with me for a lifetime. Thank you SSO!"
