About the Concerts
The Sydney Symphony has created schools’ performances to match the development of musical knowledge and skills at all educational levels. Each performance provides an interactive experience that encourages every member of the audience to engage with the music. Younger students have the opportunity to dance and interact with the musicians, while learning about the four families of orchestral instruments. Individual instruments and their repertoire are also explored at a level appropriate to each audience.  Mandatory and Elective Course content will be an integral part of each Secondary School concert. These concerts will emphasise the development of orchestral repertoire and fundamentals of symphonic music, including music that has shaped composition in Australia.
