Leave a Bequest

Leaving a gift to the Sydney Symphony in your Will is a way you can ensure a strong and vibrant future for the orchestra.

What is the Play On! program?

Play On! is Sydney Symphony's bequest program, which allows us to build a connection with our future bequestors during their lifetime.

The Play on! Program is free and confidential. Being a member enables us to keep you informed of interesting developments and include you in relevant events. Please contact us and indicate your interest to be part of this community.

The Sydney Symphony's aspirations to provide the best orchestral experiences and education programs stretch our resources. Your future support will enable us to keep inspiring others with the best orchestral music, in the same way that our music has inspired you.

Your bequest can support any of the Sydney Symphony's activities and programs

Legal and Tax advice

Leaving a bequest, or a gift from your estate, is a big decision. Your will is the legal document that lists the beneficiaries of your estate.

Your bequest can be in the form of cash or other assets such as real estate, shares, bonds or items of value.

If you don't have a will, we recommend you consult your lawyer, or The Public Trustee in your state or territory to help you to complete one. In NSW, the office is known as the NSW Trustee and Guardian, and provides professional and independent trustee services in the making of wills, acting as executor in deceased estates, and administering trusts and Powers of Attorney.

If you wish to add the Sydney Symphony to your existing will, you can simply add a codicil, signed and witnessed in the same way as your will.

We also recommended that you consult a tax advisor or the Australian Tax Office to fully understand the tax implications of your bequest.
