Now, more than ever, the Sydney Symphony’s core values: artistry, intensity and unity are at the heart of every performance and education activity that we perform.
What does the Orchestra Fund do?
The Orchestra Fund supports the Orchestra’s on-stage presence and artistic programming and ensures each performance is the absolute best that it can be. It covers the cost of augmentation (hiring additional players for large works, or to play less-common instruments), recording, lighting and the behind-scenes staging of our annual concert season.
For example, the sheer scale of the Mahler cycle and the additional forces required – choirs, soloists, organ and extra wind instruments, to name a few, makes this an enormous undertaking which would not be possible without the support of the Orchestra Fund and its patrons.
What can you do?
Now more than ever, we are calling upon our dedicated subscribers and regular concert goers to play an important role in the Sydney Symphony’s continued success. You can support the Orchestra’s one hundred plus Concert-Hall performances by becoming a patron of the Sydney Symphony’s Orchestra Fund.
With your help, the Sydney Symphony will remain a vital source of inspiration and renewal for those of us who sit in the Concert Hall throughout the year – and for those who join us through radio broadcasts and web streams around Australia and overseas.
How can I make a gift?
You can make your donation online via our secure donations page, over the phone by credit or by sending a cheque to the Philanthropy Office.
The Sydney Symphony is an endorsed charitable institution, Deductible Gift Recipient and member of the Register of Cultural Organisations. Gifts of more than $2.00 are tax-deductible.
