Beth Condon began studying the violin at the age of five with her mother, violist Louise Ray. At age 13 Beth changed instruments to viola and has since studied under Trevor Jones, Lilli Maijala, Fiona Sargeant and Caroline Henbest.
Beth holds a Bachelor of Arts, Diploma and a Bachelor of Music from Melbourne University, and undertook an exchange to the Sibelius Academy in Finland in 2014. Beth studied at the Australian National Academy of Music from 2016–2018 and performed in masterclasses for James Ehnes, Lawrence Power, Thomas Riebl, Malin Broman and Toby Lea. Whilst at ANAM, Beth’s quartet ‘Montello’ worked alongside Alasdair Tait and Gerhard Schulz. Throughout her studies, Beth has performed with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and in 2018 was an Emerging Artist with the Australian Chamber Orchestra.
Enthusiastic about music education, Beth is a dedicated instrumental teacher to many young musicians and has enjoyed tutoring with Australian Inspire Quartet and the ACO Academy Program.
