New Zealand violinist Jessica Oddie’s love of music has allowed her to live and perform all over the world. After studying at Juilliard and Yale University in the USA, she became the Teaching Assistant to Christian Sikorski at the Stuttgart Musikhochschule, whilst at the same time studying intensively with her quartet under Gerhard Schulz of the Alban Berg Quartet.
Following an acclaimed performance of Sibelius’ Violin Concerto with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Jessica recorded two albums of chamber music for the Naxos and Tactus recording labels. In Europe, her performances have been described as “brilliantly convincing” (Schwäbische Zeitung), while acclaimed Polish music magazine Muzyka21 has called Jessica’s playing “revelatory” for her “energy, commitment, and artistry”.
Jessica is one of the core violinists for Melbourne’s Inventi Ensemble and has performed in principal roles for Victorian Opera (Melbourne), Handel in the Theatre (Canberra), and at the Canberra International Music Festival and Peninsula Summer Music Festival.
