Jordy Meulenbroeks

Townsville-born Jordy Meulenbroeks started playing bassoon at the age of 12 and quickly developed a passion for orchestral music. He has been a regular member of the Australian Youth Orchestra and in 2015 he was chosen to attend the Estivo Summer School in Verona, Italy. As a soloist, he was awarded first prize in the 2016 Australasian Double Reed Society Competition and participated in the 2017 Voksenåsen Summer Academy in Oslo, Norway.

In 2018, Jordy graduated with a Bachelor of Music from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music having studied with Andrew Barnes and learning from Prof. David Seidel (Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra) during an international exchange with Kunstuniversität Graz in Austria. Upon his return to Australia, he received a Henderson Travellers scholarship with the KCJ Trio, touring France, Germany, and England, and has played as a casual musician with the Opera Australia Orchestra.
