Ms Samantha Meers (BA LLB M Litt FAICD) is executive deputy chairman of property and investment group the Nelson Meers Group, and co-founder and trustee of the Nelson Meers Foundation.
Her current not-for-profit board appointments include Chairman of Belvoir St Theatre; Chairman of Documentary Australia; and Chairman of the Brett Whiteley Foundation. Ms Meers also sits on advisory boards for the University of Sydney and the Centre for Social Impact at the University of NSW. Over the past 20 years, she has held board roles in a broad range of organisations, including the Art Gallery of NSW, the State Library of NSW, the Federal Government’s Creative Partnerships Australia, Philanthropy Australia and The Climate Institute. Ms Meers began her career as a commercial lawyer with Mallesons Stephen Jacques (now King & Wood Mallesons), and her executive career included senior management roles in the media sector.
Ms Meers is a member of Chief Executive Women and a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She holds degrees in Arts, Law and a Master of Letters degree, all from the University of Sydney.
