Young musicians from the New South Wales Regional Youth Orchestra recently travelled to Sydney for an immersive music experience.
They journeyed to the Conservatorium High School to be tutored by members of the SSO in sectional rehearsals. And, after much playing, learning and finessing they took their seats in the Concert Hall to watch the SSO and Chief Conductor David Robertson perform Mahler's Symphony No.3 with the sublime voice of mezzo-soprano Susan Graham as soloist.
What's it like to be mentored by the musicians of the SSO? And how does it feel to watch your heroes in action? One of our Young Ambassadors Britney Farrar waited after the concert to quiz the members of the RYO about their experiences.
