Sing along at The Bush Concert

Learn the chorus to The Gumtree Song so you and the kids can join in at our final Family Concert of the year, The Bush Concert.

Adelaide composer Mark Simeon Ferguson has set Helga Visser's picture book classic to music, with the Orchestra providing the sounds of all the bush birds. In this concert Barry Conrad (The X Factor) will tell the endearing story of how, during a terrible drought, the birds put on a gala concert to cheer themselves up with singing, dancing and magic tricks. Kids will love picking the "galahs" and "noisy miners" from amongst the different instruments on the Sydney Opera House stage.

The Gumtree Song (Chorus)

They love the Red gum, Blue gum,

Grey gum, Ghost gum

Scribbly gum, Spotted gum,

even Lemon Scented gum.

Stringy bark, Paper bark,

Iron bark, Half bark.

Even when it's

fallen they still love it as a log!

Red gum, Blue gum,

Grey gum, Ghost gum

Scribbly gum, Spotted gum,

Seven Flowered Mountain gum.

Stringy bark, Paper bark,

Iron bark, Half bark.

Any type of bark, just not the bark of a dog!

Ruff!
