Beethoven for Wind Quintet

Beethoven for Wind Quintet
St James’ Lunchtime Concerts

In 1792, the enterprising young Beethoven capitalised on the trend for wind band music with an octet for the Elector of Bonn. Three years later, now in Vienna and still just as enterprising, he rewrote this joyous and elegant music in a version for string quintet. In this concert, we reclaim the music’s original colours with a modern arrangement for wind quintet. Hear the Sydney Symphony Orchestra woodwind Fellows with Principal Horn Ben Jacks in the last concert of their 2018 series at St James’ King St.
