Yvonne Frindle began her career in orchestral administration in 1996, following an ABC/Youth Music Australia Music Presentation Fellowship. She worked first with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Symphony Australia in editorial and programming roles serving all six ABC orchestras, then as Artistic Administrator of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra in Perth, where she returns annually to give talks.
From 2002 to 2005 she was Artistic Administrator of Apollo’s Fire (Cleveland Baroque Orchestra); she is currently the SSO’s Publications Editor and Music Presentation Manager. Her writing has been published by all the major Australian concert presenters and visiting orchestras and ballet companies, as well as ensembles overseas and Limelight magazine.
Yvonne has been presenting pre-concert talks since 1997 – for Apollo’s Fire and the Cleveland Orchestra as well as in Australia – and has created audio features and podcasts for the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the SSO and ABC Classic FM. She also admits to playing the flute.
