Feel music at its most moving

In this rare event, we’ll hear music that draws inspiration from its surroundings.

First up, two freshly-composed pieces that represent the next generation of Australian music – showcasing both the rich diversity and exceptional talent our country has to offer.

From contemporary Australia, we travel back in time and across the Pacific, back to the dramatic sounds of Dvořák’s Ninth Symphony From the New World. A striking blend of his own musical ideas and American influences, Dvořák’s symphony remains a universal favourite – even taken along with Neil Armstrong on his journey to the moon.
