The 2017 series features three Australian female vocalists in concert with the SSO. Meet the Music 1 connects contemporary Australian makers with the orchestra, as well as the favourites in Last Night of the Proms.
This subscription is unique to Meet the Music and ideal for students in Years 9 to 12 who are curious about making and listening to music and undertaking the HSC Music 1 course.

Conductor and compere Guy Noble leads the Last Night of the Proms. Including popular works for orchestra ranging for Elgar to Arne, this is a great program to introduce students to the British institution of 'the Proms' – and tonight the students are the singers!

Megan Washington burst onto the Australian music scene in 2008. She started out performing jazz but her style has continued to evolve to indie pop and alternative rock. In 2017 she joins the SSO with new songs and a selection of favourites from her three studio albums.

Katie Noonan returns to the SSO with Australia's "poet laureate" Michael Leunig and her trio Elixir. The concert will feature the new "Gratitude and Grief" collaboration between the trio and Leunig, showcasing a unique combination of spoken-word poetry, angelic vocals and sublime improvisation.
