Hailing from Brisbane, Emily had a musical upbringing, learning the piano from age four, before picking up the horn at age nine. She studied in Queensland with Ysolt Clark and Peter Luff, and in 2017 began her studies at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in Melbourne with Ben Jacks and Saul Lewis.

Emily has performed with the Queensland, West Australian and New Zealand Symphony Orchestras, as well as Orchestra Victoria and the Australian World Orchestra. While at ANAM, Emily also performed in side-by-side projects with the Tasmanian and Australian Chamber Orchestras, and with artists including Andrew Bain, Stefan Dohr and Marie-Luise Neunecker.
