Biography

Perth-born Fletcher Cox completed his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Western Australia under Brent Grapes and Evan Cromie in 2015, receiving a Wesley Scholarship and the VOSE Memorial Concerto Prize.

From 2016, Fletcher studied at the Australian National Academy of Music in Melbourne with David Elton and Tristram Williams. He won ANAM’s 2016 Chamber Competition and the 2018 Brett & Paul Dean Prize for Outstanding Performance of an Australian Work. Fletcher returned to Perth in 2018 for contracts with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. He has also worked with the Sydney, Melbourne and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras, including appearances as guest Principal Trumpet, and performed at the 2018 Canberra International Music Festival.
