Over their first six months as Sydney Symphony Orchestra Fellows, these aspiring musicians have experienced everything from vast symphonies to more intimate chamber concerts, all while getting to know each other’s playing styles.

Now they get to draw on all that experience to curate this concert program themselves, from traditional ensembles like trios and quartets to more varied and unusual combinations of instruments.

Hear these rising stars in this special public performance at the exquisite St James’ King Street, the oldest church building in Sydney and the ideal venue to experience our Fellows’ artistry up close.

2026 Sydney Symphony Fellows

In 2026 we are excited to welcome 13 aspiring instrumentalists to take part in our Fellowship program.

They will experience intensive training, including masterclasses with world-renowned artists, dedicated mentorship from Sydney Symphony musicians and performance opportunities across a diverse range of musical styles. Fellows will take part in chamber and orchestral performances, from mainstage concerts to Learning & Engagement activities and regional programs.

And this year we also welcome four Conducting Fellows for the first time, providing a crucial stepping stone on their path towards a professional career.

We extend a special thank you to our Presenting Partner, Coxswain Alliance, for supporting the 2026 Fellowship program.

Brass has been part of trombone Fellow Harrison’s world from the start. Raised in a family of brass-band musicians, he picked up the trombone at age 8 and has since won multiple state and national competitions. He’s also performed with the Australian Youth Orchestra, most recently on its European tour in iconic venues including Vienna’s Musikverein and Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw.
