Few things are more exciting than hearing our brilliant Principal musicians step into the spotlight. This program showcases Shefali Pryor, Olli Leppäniemi, Todd Gibson-Cornish and Samuel Jacobs in works of elegance, humour and virtuosity.

In Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante K297b, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn each gets its moment. Richard Strauss’s Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme follows a social climber’s bumbling attempts at self-improvement, including a few musical jokes.

Haydn’s Symphony No.86 defined what a symphony could be, leaving a blueprint of elegance, surprise, momentum and drama that countless others would follow.
