Meet The Cast Of Siegfried

In 2023 the Sydney Symphony Orchestra began an ambitious project to perform Wagner’s complete Ring Cycle in concert, performing one opera each year in the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall. These will mark the first performances of the Ring operas in Sydney in nearly 30 years.

This project has been led by our Chief Conductor Simone Young. Already one of the world’s most celebrated Wagnerian conductors when our cycle began, her reputation has grown immeasurably since its inception with invitations to conduct the Ring at La Scala, Milan, and at the Bayreuth Festival in the concert hall that Wagner himself designed and built to stage these monumental works.
