Benjamin has performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra since 2016, when he participated in the Fellowship program, and was made a permanent member of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s First Violins in 2026. He is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, studying on scholarship with Alice Waten and Goetz Richter. He also holds a Bachelor of Music Performance as a trumpet major.
Benjamin has performed with many professional orchestras across the country, including the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and the Adelaide, Melbourne and Queensland symphony orchestras. He has also played in the Australian Youth Orchestra and was previously the concertmaster of the Sydney Youth Orchestra.
Equally fond of chamber music, he has performed with the Omega Ensemble, as well as being a member of string quartets that have given concerts in Australia, Europe and Asia. He is a founding member of the Pietra Quartet, which has won the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Chamber Music Competition and received the Gerald Westheimer String Quartet Fellowship.
Benjamin has appeared as soloist with the Sydney Youth Orchestra and Ensemble Nouveau, and has performed in masterclasses with Eberhard Feltz, Christian Tetzlaff, Vadim Guzman and Baiba Skride, as well as the Takács, Borodin, Tokyo and Doric string quartets.
An avid teacher, Benjamin has taught at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Rising Stars program, the Conservatorium High School, Ravenswood School for Girls and Meriden School.
