David Elton, Sydney Symphony Principal Trumpet plays the Last Post on the steps of Sydney Town Hall for Anzac Day.

Playing the Last Post each year on Anzac Day is always an emotional experience. This lonesome bugle call remembers and pays tribute to all service men and women from throughout the varying wars, battles and trials.

We all have a connection to people who have served our country - for me, I think of both my Grandfather as a soldier and my Grandmother nursing in Greece during the Second World War.

So as the echos of trumpeters around Australia ring out at dawn, it is with respect and humility that we thank and remember them. – David Elton
