Simone Young conducts great romantics

We mark Simone Young’s return in this digital recording from the Sydney Town Hall stage.

The performance erupts with Australian composer Paul Terracini’s brass attack, before floating onto the heavenly melodies of Mahler and Fauré. A contemporary piece by Michael Daugherty slices up the pace before we plunge, headfirst, into the operatic intensity of Puccini and Mascagni.
