Looking for a little classroom inspiration? Join our Professional Development Workshops and explore fun and engaging ways to unpack orchestral music in your classroom. Open to all teachers, these in-person workshops deliver contemporary and in-depth approaches to teaching music.

Whether you’re looking to prepare students for the live concert experience, develop fresh ideas for your lessons or meet required accreditation hours, our workshops are here to spark creativity and share insights into inspiring a love of orchestral music in anyone.

Schools attending any concert in the 2024 Season can send one teacher to a Professional Development Workshop of your choice, for free.

Using Orchestral Music Effectively in your Classroom

This NESA Accredited Professional Development Workshop uses orchestral music as a vehicle for teachers to explore their own creativity and support their attainment of proficient teacher standards. Teachers attending the course will learn:

  • Creative performing, organising sound and listening activities exploring the concepts of music
  • Ways to differentiate activities to suit the needs of your students
  • Pedagogical approaches and strategies for teaching music

Suitable for teachers of Stages 1–3

  • Wednesday 19 June, 4pm St Andrews Cathedral School, Sydney Square

Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes


  • Teachers:  $95 each 
  • Student Teachers:  $75 each
